Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
WE CHOOSE TO BE A “ONE READY” CHURCH.
DEPENDENCY ON THE HOLY SPIRIT
We choose to be a “sailboat church” as opposed to a “rowboat” church. In other words, our efforts can only be fruitful when the winds of the Holy Spirit fill our sails and carry us forward.
INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP
While some discipleship happens accidentally, we will follow the intentional model of Jesus by calling people into discipleship relationships that exist through mentoring, groups, training, and the practice of personal spiritual disciplines.
STEWARDSHIP
We will see God fund our mission as we teach and practice the philosophy that everything belongs to Him. We will not only teach radical faith and generosity, but we will also practice radical faith and generosity.
WAYS TO PRAY
WISELY: 1 Kings 3:9 “So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
PERCEPTIVELY: 2 Kings 6: 16-17 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
FAITHFULLY: Daniel 6:10b Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
DESPERATELY: 2 Chronicles 14:11 Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, “ Lord , there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. Lord , you are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.”
CONTINUOUSLY: Nehemiah 4:9 But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.
BE THE 99
Have a ONE Ready or Great Commission moment captured in a photo? We’d love for you to share it for a chance to be featured as our Picture of the Week as we celebrate what God is doing through His disciples at Eastpointe. While submitting a photo doesn’t guarantee placement on the wall, every story shared helps us testify to God’s goodness—thank you for being part of it!
